Adobe Photoshop New Logo

Adobe Photoshop has released its new logo and also has new tagline "See What's Possible". Yes it's true and it's official! - We can't be dreaming.

"The Photoshop logo on a product, service, or technology, represents the rich legacy, technical quality, and attention to detail that has made Photoshop the gold standard in digital imaging," - from the press docs.

I love Photoshop and I have used it every day since college. The new logo looks like the iChat logo that was reversed and doesn't speak to what Photoshop is to me. I don't get this one either... it looks so out of place with the current CS3 icons that I have gradually accepted. Now this flys in the face of those. I don't see consistency here at all.

Here's a quick screenshots of the main variations on the logo.

Reaching. Attaining. Accomplishing a healthier life.

After two weeks at last I have played badminton once again together with my sister and brother in Katipunan Prime Badminton Court in Marikina City for merely two hours. My sister, cousins and I went to Metrogate in Silang, Cavire to compete with my sisters officemates who are regular players in the said venue.

Our team won on several games including a crucial queuing game between players from other badminton club near the badminton location we are playing and on that game I caught myself catching for my breath that means I am no longer physically healthy and I want to be the old me who can play four straight basketball games without resting or substituting with other players.

So I came up to this plan, a plan to become physically fit once more through proper diet and doing the right exercise. My exercise tactics includes jogging twice a week, doing a light workout, and playing badminton at least thrice a week and to engage myself in our basketball activity twice a month in the office. My approach going under proper diet is lessening of eating on fast food chains and other meaty foodstuff (try ko kaya maging vegetarian hehe).

Let us break the house-office-house or house-school-house routine. This is an idea towards a healthier life and if you want to join my campaign then you are most likely welcome. I must have discipline and focus to myself to accomplish my plans.

This is my schedule:
Basketball
- Thursday of 1st and 3rd week of every month
Badminton – Every Saturday or Sunday depends on my availability
Jogging – Wednesday and Saturday night
Light Workout - everyday

Campaign kicks-off by next week – HOPEFULLY!

Perfect Business - Dreaming

No business is perfect. NONE. Business is a game of progress, not perfection. No business will be perfect. It’s an impossibly unattainable goal. But while that goal is unattainable, the most endearing and enduring businesses seem to always aspire to reach perfection. They always make progressive steps to improve their business and how their business connects with people. Sure, they will stumble along the way. But the true measure of a company is how they recover and forge ahead making progress along the way to overcome their mistakes.

No person is perfect. NO ONE. As people we also mess up BIG-TIME. We constantly make bad decisions that harm others. We disappoint friends. We betray people’s trust. We cannot achieve perfection. Doesn’t mean we should give up and not try. The most endearing and enduring people I know make progress every day to improve themselves and their relationships with others. And when people see progress being made, they are willing to forgive mistakes.

Whose fault is it?

As a designer and user experience professional, it’s easy to blame faceless corporate bureaucracy. It’s management’s fault; they don’t think about users. It’s marketing’s fault; they don’t understand the difference between a brochure and a web app. It’s the art department’s fault; they didn’t explain the difference between print experience and multimedia experience. Sure, there’s a lot of blame to go around, but the buck stops here. This is our job, our fight, and ultimately our responsibility.

There are a lot of designers and UX architects who are happy to go with the flow and let marketing dictate the terms of the design. If a poorly dictated design ends up crippling the user experience, well, that’s not their fault. But blame has a way of trickling down to the people closest to a project. Who’s going to take the bullet? The senior marketing executive who oversaw the project, or you, the worker in charge of actually executing it?

Fault doesn’t matter. Responsibility does. At the end of the day, as user experience professionals, it is our responsibility to advocate on behalf of the user. That means we have to be champions of the user experience, and sometimes that means going against the status quo.

Would you rather choose mine?

I love being a Bedan or Bedista and I am really proud of it. It is proven that Bedan students and Alumni are really hardcore supporters of the school and this gave my idea on creating a tee shirt design for my peers in San Beda but nothing happened because i lacked of marketing my design.

After a year, a fellow bedan showcased his spoof edition of shirts to other bedans, most of them purchased his tee shirts and that happened often. Now its NCAA Season 83 and this is my time to market my new ideas and designs. Last week, i posted my tee shirt design in bedista.com few days after I post my entry, other competitors showed up selling the same brand (San Beda) but different design.

In this case, we have 3 designs competing to a small population of target audience, If you were to ask what San Beda Tee Shirt are you going to choose?

1. My Design - The Bedista Tee Shirt
2. Fellow Bedan 1 - Second Coming
3. Fellow Bedan 2 - Ekwe Shirt

Please Choose one and why.

Globe - be one of us!

Yesterday was gigi's last day in the office (directwithhotels) and will start working at Globe by next week. We all had our lunch together (portfolio team and the pmm's and pma's) and in the afternoon she treated us a 2 gallon of ice cream I think lol I even don't know what the flavor is, all I know is that I took about 7 scoops of ice cream? I believe (thinking hehe). While having a desert, we started taking pictures, a lot of pictures.

I came up with an idea of giving her a letter answering a simple question about her but idj gave a nicer idea, idea of asking gigi questions instead that requires her to answer it. Ideas are just ideas hehe but nothing happened, it was only anais who followed my idea hehe sorry bro :)

Here are some information about gigi i know:
1. SuperPMA (performance maximization assistant) turned into a PMM (manager)
2. MIS (Mgt and Info. Science) Cum Laude in Ateneo
3. Lives independently
4. Proficient in English (I wish i'm like that, whew!)
5. Fashionable
6. Has a great character
7. She loves her Ernie so much
8. She got wheels
9. She's only 21 (22 na yan eh! hehe)
10. Likes to collect coins
